Q: What is Crashtastic?
Well in a nutshell Crashtastic is a physics game where you build vehicles to help your robot test subject complete various objectives.
Q: Is the pre-order alpha available?
Yes! Go buy it here.
Q: How much doesthe pre-order cost?
The cost to pre-order the game, and get access to the alpha is $9.99.
Q: What payment methods do you support?
Paypal and Google Checkout.
Q: What do I get with the pre-order?
By purchasing the pre-order, you get instant access to the current alpha, and all releases up to and including the final release of the game.
Q: Is there a demo I can play first?
Sorry, but there is no demo currently. I will have a demo at some point, so check back if you would rather wait for it.
Q: How complete is the game?
It isn’t. There are bugs. There are missing features. There will be crashes. The game isn’t completed. I think it is fun as it stands, and I will be updating it regularly, but it isn’t perfect.
Q: What platforms are available?
The alpha is currently available on PC and Mac. I will be supporting Linux as well in the near future.

Q: Do I need to be connected to the internet to play
For the moment yes.
Q: Why do I need to be connected to the internet?
Let me be clear, there will be an offline mode. As this is an alpha version of the game, I really need some assistance testing the online features, and tuning the game, which having users be connected helps me to do. I will have an offline mode in the future however.
How will the full version be distributed
Will the it be available on the Mac App Store?
That’s the plan, as soon as I release the final version it should be on the Mac App store. In the meantime, once I secure a Mac for builds and testing, they will be hosted here.

Are you going to have some kind of multiplayer? It would be fun to build race cars and race a friend (think “Banjo kaszooie, nuts & bolts)

Please port a Mac version at least to the Mac App Store, there would be plenty of Mac users waiting to get their hands on this game. So please make a port for Mac. For all those Mac users- Please.We beg you.

Two Questions:

1) There are currently 12 levels in the alpha, with many more currently in development.
2) I am considering a level editor, but there are technical challenges to making it happen.
If i buy this game now, do i need to buy the beta and the complete game again or do i pay for all of thoose now?

Hi, I have downloaded the zipped game files, but when I go to unzip the file nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone else, or am I just an idiot? Is there a certain way to install the game that I am missing? Thanks guys.

How do i download Crashtastic? I bought the game but when i try to download it, then it just reloades the page!!! Please Reply.
You should be able to click here, and enter your email address and password. The download should start automatically. If you still can’t download the game after this, please email support@crashtastic.com with the email address you used to purchase the game.

Yes. You get access to both PC and Mac versions (once the Mac version is available.)
do you think in some future there can be a multilayer destruction derby and maybe there could be a different update with bolts and screws. PS love the alpha

Will the game possibly cost more when the main game is out? I’ve seen it with some and… Thought I’d ask.
The current price is $7.99, and is discounted due to the game being incomplete. The final price of the game has not been determined, but it will be more than $7.99.

When is the game coming out
The alpha is currently available, but I don’t have a release date for the final version. I hope to have it completed later this year.
Do you have any rough ideas when you think you will be able to make the alpha available for mac users. I love watching youtube videos of people crashing, and i would love to try it out for myself but I only have a MAC.
I hope to have a Mac version available in a few weeks. I just ordered my new Mac Book, so once I have it in hand, I will work on verifying the Mac build!
What are the system requirements?
I am still nailing down the system requirements, but Crashtastic does need a decent CPU.
Why no Linux version?
Crashtastic was created using the Unity engine, which currently doesn’t support Linux. Once Unity supports Linux I will happily ship a Linux build as well!
Hello Mark, i have a suggestion for you!
On youtube there’s this guy called Totalbiscuit, and he does these first impression videos (titled “WTF is…?), usually about indie games. He only takes requests from the actual develepor, so i thought you might wanted to send him an email (at Cynicalbrit.com i think) and find out if he would want to make a video about Crashtastic. He gets a good amount of views, and it would make your game a little more well-known, getting it some deserved attention.

Sorry to hear you are are experiencing issues with the game, please send email to support@crashtastic.com with the output_log.txt file from the crashtastic_data directory. Once I have that, I can look into why you are running into an issue.
is there a free play mode where u can just build awesome game look forward to finished product
There are currently no limits to what you can use for a given level. A few people have asked for a sandbox level, and it is something I am considering adding.
So will there be a demo?
No demo yet. At some point there will be a demo for people to try the game.
Will ther be a JOINT? like full 360* pivots, and/or be able to limit the rotation? i’m trying to make a helicopter.

One you buy the game, you can download the game on any platform I support. I currently only have Windows support available, but Mac and Linux version will be available in the future.

Hey man. I’m having some trouble downloading your game. When I first tried to purchase it. It would not let click on any of the links and it would not work. I had to refresh the page a bunch just so the green checks would appear next to what I was typing in. Now I go to download it and it’s doing the same thing. I click on the download link after typing in my information and nothing happens. At all. Would appreciate some assistance.
What browser are you using? Can you try downloading it with a different browser?
I’m using chrome. I could try a different one though.

I’m not sure if they is a specific section to report bugs, or if this has been reported before, but once in a while during the editing mode The play button doesn’t work and Save won’t work. So basically you have to restart the car or go to your last save of it so you can play.
Hi – Alpha worked fine for the first 5 levels, then started running at about 1 frame/sec (one). Was running at 19×12 w/ highest settings (HD6950), but tried the lowest settings, and eventually 640×480 with the same un-playable frame rates – any idea what happened?
Send you output_log.txt file from the Crashtastic_data directory, and I can take a look. How many pieces were you using? Was it the same design for the first 5 levels?

But, it worked because I used cross over.

Don’t worry! I solved it! I extracted it to the desktop by accident! (which meant it didn’t function properly) Only played it for a few minutes IT’S AWESOME! Keep up the good work!

I wish I could, but I’m waiting on Apple to deliver my new Mac book, then once I have it I will start working on the Mac build. It should be about 3 to 4 weeks.
